I meant to post this in December, but here I am celebrating showing grace to not only others, but to myself in 2021. Enjoy what still stands true this month!
I've been through an extensive hair journey this year due to Covid-19 and my hair stylist unable to do my hair and providing me with at home kits all to say that nothing is like a professional master hair colorist and stylist to do my thick, unruly hair.
Scalp care which is finally getting the attention it needs as always been an issue with me especially when seasons change and my sensitive scalp flares up and literally starts to peel from dehydration due to the season, dying my hair as well as using not so good products for my hair such as Head and Shoulders.
I got so frustrated that I went into a buying frenzy of all things hair care related that I've slowly added to my Amazon wishlist based on site reviews or recommendations from YouTube people I follow. So here's the list of winners enjoy!
NATURELAB Tokyo Perfect Shine Shampoo $16
I haven't take the time to look at the ingredients, but all I know is that it leaves my scalp really clean without leaving it feeling tight and dry after I shower and my hair is still soft before I even put conditioner on it.
Since I have a lot of hair and it's thick it, can take several shampoo washes to get the build up off my scalp which can be time consuming, tiresome and a waste of water. I had previously purchased a scalp massager but it's that purple one with short bristles that apparently everyone in the mother claims is the best on Amazon. Well it isn't because I found the BEST ONE. It comes in a pack of two, one for each hand, its ergonomic and the bristles are silicone thick and long cones that really get into the scalp without causing knots and helps me cut the amount of shampoo washes in half. I'm sure this hair massager can elevate anyones current shampoo who has the same hair and scalp struggles that I do. I also like the form factor, in which you can stack them together and they can stand on a flat surface.
NATURELAB Tokyo Perfect Smooth Conditioner $14
I think I'm slowly becoming a fan of this brand, the shampoo was great and the conditioner didn't disappoint. The smooth version literally smooths my hair without weighing it down from the roots. Other smoothing conditioners I've used have weighed down my roots meanwhile the rest of my hair puffs out from not enough moisture, it's a great look I'm happy to say goodbye to.
NATURELAB Tokyo Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub $16
I have tried every scalp scrub you can think of and I think this is in the running from a satisfaction perspective with Christophe Robin Rose Scalp Scrub. It's different in texture and scent, but they both do a good job of cleaning my scalp. You get more product for you money so this technically wins, but the Rose scalp scrub wins in sensory satisfaction and needing to feel extra on occasion or all the time. (:
